David Raiklen began studying keyboard and composing at age 5. He wrote, directed and scored his first film at age 9. He attended, then taught at UCLA, USC and CalArts. Among his mentors are John Williams and Mel Powel. He has worked for Fox, Sony, Disney, PBS and Sprint.

David's composing is recognized by awards, including a 2004 American Music Center Grant. Dr. Raiklen has composed music and sound design for theater, dance, television, cell phone , museums, concerts, documentaries and features, including Boone Style, 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Special Effects, directed by Ben Burtt. He's also scoring a groundbreaking video game.

David Raiklen compositions have been performed at the Hollywood Bowl and the first Disney Hall. David is host of a successful radio program, Classical Fan Club, where guests include Joshua Bell and John Williams.

Current projects include a thrilling revelation of the soviet space program, The Secret Life of Gagarin, featuring Elliott Gould. He is scoring the feature debut of teen director Anne-Sophie Dutoit, Faded Memories.
